The Gordon Ramsey raves about Loves Fish restaurant.
Well he has since he completely reorganised it. Why they charge extra
for tartar sauce always puzzles us.
Staying with us in the heart of Kemptown, it would be hard to ignore the
sizeable gay community (Is Brighton England’s answer to San Francisco).
St James’s Street alone has 7 or 8 gay bars on or near it. THE BULLDOG
TAVERN being the oldest and most famous.
The liveliest and best place to watch any sporting events is HORATIOS
at the end of the Palace Pier. Sometimes it is so packed, noisy and tense
inside that it is as good as being at the match itself.
There are lots of fashionable Café Bars in Brighton. Go to THE
DORSET STREET BAR in North Street and watch the world pass by or Sam’s
place around the corner from La Marinade.
The best cocktails in Brighton are served at two places opposite to one
another.
The Koba in Western Road and across the road Pintxo People. Pintxo is
also a fabulous tapas bar. They have both won the prestigious Battle of
the Bars at the food festival so if you are pushing the boat out……….
Then of course there is the sort of place you would go to with the hope
of bumping into ‘ol blue eyes’ singing only the lonely. Where
is that in Brighton? Feeling sad, partner left you, what to listen to
the blues? Just call and we will point you in the direction!
If you fancy a pub in the country our two favourites to eat and drink
in are THE ROYAL OAK in Poyning and the incomparable, ancient, twice pub
of the year, GRIFFIN INN at Fletching.
We are always on the look out for new interesting places to drink. Please
come and help contribute to the search.
