Towels
We wash out towels in soap nut shells, a natural product that is the most environmentally friendly way of washing we can devise. The shells mean that the cost of washing is more and with no whiteners and bleaches etc the towels can sometimes turn grey in this hotel Brighton.

We agree with our guests that grey towels are not acceptable. Because of this we compromise, initially using soap nut shells and when the towels get marked or start to look grey, then we turn to Ecovert washing powder an ecologically recommended product and then when Ecovert then disappoints we reluctantly turn to Lever Brothers a commercial product used by most other hotels.

Soap and shampoo
All our toiletries are guaranteed natural, and 100% free of synthetic perfumes, colourants and preservatives. As much as possible they are made from certified organic vegetables and of course they are not tested on animals.

The vegetable soap for example is also made from certified organic oils scented with natural essential oils and traditionally manufactured.

All this is authorized by BDIH who are the German body certifying that the products contain 100% pure natural ingredients.

They are also certified by the Vegan society not to contain ingredients from animal sources.

The toilet paper is either made from recycled paper or produced from a sustainable wood source. Some of our cleaning materials are bio-degradable or guaranteed to have minimum impact on the environment. We do use some less eco friendly products, as experience has taught us that our guests demand cleanliness above all other considerations.

Our lighting uses mainly low energy bulbs to reduce power consumption. A supplier who guarantees that the third world producer is paid a fair trade price for his product provides the tea and coffee. The quality is excellent and the middleman has been excluded.

We are relaxed about checking out and most days you will be able to choose late check in and a midday checkout. You are welcome to leave your bags with us when leaving and collect them before you leave Brighton.

We are a hotel Brighton where there are no lists of rules. You are welcome, feel comfortable. Enjoy yourself in Brighton and leave with a smile feeling content.

Obviously we would like you to respect the well being of our other guests and please agree that on booking you accept full responsibility for all persons in your party. Any damage caused other than general wear and tear may be billed against the credit/debit card details provided at the time of booking. Keys lost or not returned on departure may be also be charged.
