When God was handing out the cities of Britain to its
people, who had been
queuing for days outside his office, the Brightonians forgot to come.
They
were too busy drinking and dancing and having a good time. When they did
eventually show up, God said crossly: 'you're too late, I've given everything
away; you should have been in the queue like everyone else.'
'In that case' said the Brightonians 'we might as well
open another bottle
and go back to the party. Why don't you come too?' So God went to the
party and had a few drinks and danced and mingled. After a bit he said
'tell you what boys, I've had such a good time I've decided to give you
the city I was keeping for myself.
Whether or not Brighton is really Gods own country,
Paskins Town House is the place to come.
