Brighton seems to attract the unique, the wonderful, the desirable and the eccentric. It’s one of the best places in Britain to find unusual shops run by people who really know their stuff. There’s juggling shops where you can have a quick lesson from an expert; an antique teddy bear shop owned by a collector; an internationally known record shop where you can find rare and obscure film soundtrack albums - the list is endless. Try The Lanes and East Street for antiques, jewellery, clothes, hats and shoes, and Western Road, North Street and the new Churchill Square for your favorite High Street names. The North Laine has over 300 shops in less than half a square mile of laid-back charm if you’re looking for 70’s kitsch or African drums. Kemp Town has some great flea-markets and the bumper car boot at Brighton Station every Sunday is well worth a rummage. With so much variety, there’s a present for everyone. I Glorious
