Part social, part sporting, it has a reputation for being a hedonistic display combining heavy drinking with tough sailing, a mix of alcoholic late nights and a grueling navigation of the Solent in a Force 6 the morning after.While the upper echelons of British society and grander international yachtsmen are doing it in style at the Royal Yacht SquadronÕs hallowed Ball, the lower order and crews are bungee-jumping or dancing the night away at a club with scantily-clad blondes.Whatever your status - upper-crust or deck-hand, cocktail or beer - Cowes Week is great fun!
